Volunteer

Volunteers are the roots of the Porters Lake Community Association ( PLCSA). From our board, to our various committees and to the events we put on throughout the year, we would not be able to operate without them.
We are always eager to work with people who are community-minded like us! Our volunteers make us a stronger organization, and play an important role as we work together to help build a healthier community in Porters Lake .We offer a range of volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. Contact us today to see where you can help!

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers build resilient communities.

More than half of Canada’s 161,000 non-profit and charitable organizations have no paid staff and rely solely on volunteers. 12.7 million volunteers contribute close to 2 billion hours annually. Imagine what your community would look like if all that went away?

Volunteers help improve quality of life for others. They also gain valuable experience and develop new skills. As well, studies show that involved Canadians enjoy an improved overall health.
