Lake ‘n’ Shore Days 2017

The PLSCA is happy to announce that Lake and Shore Days will be happening this year from Aug 6-13! The theme of this years festival will be Red,White and True in keeping with the spirit of Canada’s 150th Birthday .

All events listed will be held at the Porters Lake Community Centre ,4693 Hwy#7 unless stated otherwise.

There will be a jamboree on the afternoon of Sunday Aug 6 from 1-3pm with a hamburger and hotdog BBQ hosted by the Porters Lake Seniors Association

Tuesday Aug 8 there will be a PLCSA Youth Dance for grades 3-6 from 7-9pm . Students must be signed in by an adult and cost is $5

Wednesday Aug 9 there will be a PLCSA Teen Dance for grades 7-9 from 7-9:30pm.
Students must be signed in by an adult and cost is $5

Thursday Aug 10 there will be a special Lake and Shore Bingo with a guaranteed $1000 jackpot to give away.mini Bingo starts at 6:45, regular games at 7:30.

Friday Aug 11 we will have a double feature family Movie Night under the big tent . Cost is $5/family. Concessions available to purchase.

Saturday Aug 12 we will have a community pancake breakfast hosted by Orenda from 8-10:30.$5 kids $7 adults. Pancakes, sausage, tea, coffee and juice.

Our grand street parade starts at 11 am at the Porters Lake Superstore and ends at the Centre where there will be a BBQ sponsored by Dominion Diving and Family Fair sponsored by seven Lakes from 1-3 pm featuring games , a bouncy, and face painting.

9pm-1am we will have our beer tent featuring the band Monkeys Uncle as our entertainment for the evening . 19+ event .Cash bar .$10 per person and tickets will be pre-sold until Aug 9. After Aug 9 at the door only . Come out and help us celebrate Canada 150 and wear your red and white!

Sunday Aug 13 ,
The Eastern Shore Family Resource Association will be hosting the free Teddy Bear picnic from 2-4 pm for ages 2-5 at the Playground if weather permits or inside the Centre if not . The Royal Canadian Legion Gaetz Brook Branch will host
a VJ Day ceremony at the
Branch Cenotaph in Porters Lake
Time: 1:50 for 2:00 pm
In case of inclement weather location will be at the Branch.

The PLCSA will have an open house and free community hot dog BBQ and cake from 5-7pm where our “What does Canada Mean to Me ” contest winners will be awarded their prizes and attendees will be able to view all the entries and see the renovations the Centre has undergone with the assistance of a Canada 150 grant.

Lake and Shore Fireworks finale will take place over Sandy Point at nightfall.
